AAPI Montclair invites you to kick off the 2023 Lunar New Year with a day of festivities at the Montclair Art Museum. 

Lunar New Year is a time of hope where family, friends, and neighbors come together to rejoice in new beginnings as we look ahead to a peaceful and prosperous year. Cheer on lion dancers and enjoy live performances from local artists and students from our local schools. March in the dragon parade or try your hand at one of our family friendly crafts. Sample a variety of scrumptious eats and browse specialty merchandise from local vendors. Your ticket also gives you full access to the beautiful galleries inside the Montclair Art Museum. more here

Montclair Starts Up: A new in-person event series that is open to all!

Whether you are a current or future entrepreneur, join us for an evening of community and learning as we launch the Montclair Starts Up series, a space where campus and community meet to explore the latest in entrepreneurial insights and create meaningful connections. Be inspired and learn from leading voices in the industry and connect with thought leaders and trailblazers in our communities as you enjoy delicious food and drinks.

In the opening event on February 15th, you will:

  • have the opportunity to listen and provide feedback to 3 startups pitching their businesses,
  • immerse in an insightful discussion with leaders in access to capital and investment for entrepreneurs, including:
  • network and connect with other entrepreneurs from our communities.

Montclair Film: Story Slam

 Learning Love
Cupid can be stupid, but every now and again really hits the mark. But love is a choice, a practice, and a learned skill. Come join us on our journeys of learning how to love.

Whether you have something to say, or just want to listen, you won’t want to miss the return of the Montclair Film StorySLAM. Each participant will have five minutes to relay their unique version of the theme. After presenting to a supportive audience, a team of judges will evaluate and score each story.

Doors open at 7:00pm. Alcoholic beverages and concessions will be available for purchase.  More here

Montclair African American Heritage Foundation Parade (starting 10:30)

Parade will pass through Maple Ave ->Elm Street -> Orange Road -> Cedar -> High St -> Into Nishuane Park

Ending at High Street & Cedar Avenue, Montclair, NJ for our annual Festival.  MAAHF Parade + Festival

 

June 10

Pride Festival

The official Pride Festival put on by Out Montclair will be located on Bloomfield Avenue between Church and Park in downtown Montclair. The event will be a celebration of LGBTQIA+ people and allies, raising awareness and strengthening ties in our community and for our friends and allies in the region, while providing a day filled with performance, art, culture, food, music and more.   We are also excited to welcome many special guests and celebrities to extend the celebration beyond the festival to some of our amazing institutions and businesses all around Montclair.

Summer Sunday 1-6 (From Maple to MAM on Bloomfield Ave. Church, Glenridge, Park, S Park, Fullerton, Midland, Valley)

We’ll be celebrating #NationalIcecreamday, on July 16th, with Summer Sunday! From 1- 6 pm! Over 50 businesses participating. Pet friendly! Family friendly!

Spend the day in Montclair Center with friends and family. This will be a super fun afternoon with many local downtown businesses participating! We’re adding more every week!

Experience all downtown has to offer – retail, restaurants, fitness, beauty and more! Everyone can enjoy sales, snacks, music, and arts and crafts!

Downtown Jazz Festival Jamboree 

The MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL Downtown Jamboree will transform the vibrant, arts-rich, New York City urban suburb of Montclair, NJ into a musical mecca. This is the third time that the festival takes to the streets of downtown Montclair to support the vibrant main business district. Three downtown stages and 150 food and artisan vendors on a ½ miles stretch of Bloomfield Avenue; expanded Family Jazz Discovery Zone more here

Montclair Film Festival 

The twelfth annual Montclair Film Festival will entertain film lovers and professionals from across the region and country with ten days of compelling independent films, comedies, documentaries, panels, family events, and work by emerging artists. The festival will provide a platform for talented filmmakers from around the world and give special recognition to New Jersey artists. More here
